Glaspoort, a joint venture APG entered into previously with KPN on behalf of ABP, will be cooperating with glass fiber company GlasDraad. Glaspoort and GlasDraad are both active in the deployment of glass fiber networks in the Netherlands. As a result of this cooperation, the Netherlands is provided with faster internet through glass fiber even quicker.

GlasDraad is part of TINC, the infrastructure investor listed on Euronext Brussels. While Glaspoort is mainly active in smaller municipalities, villages and business parks, GlasDraad provides its services primarily to rural areas. The activities of both companies are therefore well-aligned. As part of the cooperation, Glaspoort takes a 50% stake in GlasDraad with the option to fully acquire GlasDraad in the longer term. TINC and Glaspoort will jointly invest additional funds in the development capacity of GlasDraad, realizing the common deployment ambition. By joining forces, GlasDraad and Glaspoort are able to provide the Netherlands with fast internet through glass fiber even quicker.

Open network

The cooperation also joins the expertise of Glaspoort and GlasDraad allowing both companies to serve customers based on the latest and best technologies. All telecom providers continue to be welcome on the ‘open network’ of both companies. This enables multiple service providers to offer their customers customized content and packages through the network of Glaspoort and GlasDraad.
