Retirement age goes up by January 1, 2018

Published on: 30 October 2016

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) today announced the new estimate of the macro-average life expectancy. As a result of increased life expectancy, the retirement age will be increased from January 1, 2018 from 67 to 68 years.

The retirement age is an age calculator used for calculating the annual maximum tax pension.

The retirement age is linked to the average remaining life expectancy of the Dutch population. Raising the retirement age is effective from January 1, 2018 and has no impact on the tax pension before that date.
