Barbara Bakker appointed Chief Finance & Risk Officer at APG Asset Management

APG Asset Management has appointed Barbara Bakker (41) as Chief Finance & Risk Officer. In this role, she reports to Ronald Wuijster, CEO of APG Asset Management and member of the Executive Board of APG, responsible for asset management. The appointment of Barbara Bakker, as of 1 July 2023, has been approved by the AFM.

  

Barbara Bakker has gained extensive experience in risk management in an asset management environment. Both financially and non-financially. As responsible for the Aegon AM NL organization, she also has broad experience in finance and strategy. As a transformation officer, she has also gained knowledge and experience in the IT field and in successfully implementing transformations in a global organization.

 

Trained at TU Delft as an applied mathematician, she joined NIBC BANK N.V. in 2007 as Associate Asset & Liability Management. She then continued her career at Aegon. She has held various positions there over a period of more than 12 years. In her last position, she was CEO of Aegon Asset Management Netherlands and Global Transformation Officer.
