Cleaning Industry Pension Fund is the winner of the Pension Guide Award 2025. They claimed the prestigious prize with their translation app, Textbuddy. The jury praised the initiative as ‘widely applicable across the entire pension sector’ and highlighted the versatility of the tool, which helps reach vulnerable groups.
The Pension Guide Award was presented yesterday for the eleventh time to the organization with the best initiative that helps people gain insight into their pension and take action when needed. At Cleaning Industry Pension Fund, it became clear that many participants were not using pension communication - or not using it effectively. The gap between the fund and its members was significant, with language and complexity of information being major barriers.
Many participants do not feel comfortable with Dutch, and even translations often remained difficult to understand. That’s why the fund first collaborated with APG’s ‘Groeifabriek’ and later with Hyfen to develop Textbuddy. The tool translates pension information into more than twenty languages, simplifies it, and can even read it aloud. This makes pension information accessible to as many people as possible. “I’m very happy with this recognition of our efforts to truly help people. That they really understand what’s happening, on a topic that is difficult for everyone”, says Tarik Uçar of Cleaning Industry Pension Fund. He also thanked all APG colleagues “who made this possible. This award is for them too.”
Symposium and four finalists
The award was presented by a jury on behalf of the Money Wise platform to Hyfen and Cleaning Industry Pension Fund at Castle Woerden. Hidde Terpoorten and Tarik Uçar accepted the prize.
The ceremony took place during the symposium for communication professionals in the pension sector, themed: Clear Pension Communication as a Compass. The symposium was organized by Money Wise on the final day of the national Pension3Days. Part of the program was the finale of the Pension Guide Award 2025, where four finalists presented their initiatives to the jury and the audience.
