APG, on behalf of ABP, is investing in 249 affordable and sustainable newly constructed apartments. This project is part of a partnership with bpfBOUW, managed by real estate investor Bouwinvest, involving a €400 million investment in the construction of affordable rental homes.
The upcoming Prins and Prinses buildings, part of the Hof van Rijswijk development plan, mark the consortium's initial acquisition and represent the first step towards adding affordable housing in the mid-rental segment (€879 to €1,220 per month). The apartments average 63 m² and are designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency.
Priority for specific professions
Located in Rijswijk, South Holland, these homes are suitable for single-person, two-person households, and young families. Certain professions in healthcare, education, police, firefighting, and construction will be prioritized for these homes.
€5 billion allocated for affordable rental housing
Participants in funds managed by APG are increasingly challenged to find affordable housing. Investments in housing have consistently provided stable returns over the years. As a result, APG is allocating approximately €5 billion for affordable rental homes in the Netherlands on behalf of ABP. This initiative aims to contribute to a secure retirement in a sustainable world.
